Under the project “Support and Protection for Displaced Persons and Vulnerable Groups in Jabal Mohsen,” the Alawite Islamic Charity Association (AICA), in partnership with Oxfam in Lebanon and with support from the Dutch Relief Alliance, conducted legal information sessions for beneficiaries to enhance their access to clear, safe, and reliable legal information.
The sessions focused on raising participants’ awareness of their rights and the available support pathways, particularly regarding residency, civil documentation, registration, legal risks, and safe and confidential ways to request legal advice. Participants were also reminded of the importance of obtaining information from trusted sources and avoiding intermediaries or unlawful procedures that may expose them to exploitation or fraud.
These sessions form part of the project’s efforts to support individuals and families who are most exposed to protection risks through legal guidance, safe referrals, and follow-up based on their needs, while respecting the principles of confidentiality, informed consent, dignity, and non-discrimination.
