Protection & GBV Facilitator

Payroll/NSSF: The selected candidate will be registered under AICA's payroll and applicable NSSF/statutory procedures.

Reporting Line: Protection Coordinator and/or Head of Programs.

Job Purpose

AICA is seeking a Protection & GBV Facilitator to support the implementation of the ECHO HIP Project across North Lebanon and Akkar.

The Protection & GBV Facilitator supports community-based protection and gender-based violence prevention and risk-mitigation activities. The position delivers awareness, psychoeducational, life-skills, outreach, focus-group, and community-engagement activities while identifying protection concerns and facilitating safe referrals.

Key Responsibilities

• Work from approved materials and under the technical guidance of qualified protection/GBV personnel.
• Co-facilitate structured protection and GBV awareness sessions.
• Deliver psychoeducational, life-skills, and community-resilience activities.
• Conduct focus-group discussions and other participatory activities.
• Identify individuals or households facing protection concerns or GBV risks
• Recognize potential protection concerns at a basic, non-specialized level and facilitate safe referrals
• Provide accurate and accessible information about available humanitarian services.
• Make confidential referrals through approved internal and external referral mechanisms.
• Coordinate with Protection Case Workers, GBV Case Workers, and partner organizations.
• Support community mapping and the identification of protection risks, vulnerabilities, and service gaps.
• Promote awareness of complaints, feedback, safeguarding, and accountability mechanisms.
• Prepare activity plans, registration records, attendance sheets, evaluations, and narrative reports.
• Record activities through AICA's Odoo ERP and other approved monitoring or reporting platforms.
• Report safeguarding, sexual exploitation and abuse, fraud, misconduct, and serious protection concerns through approved channels.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, education, public health, community development, humanitarian studies, or a related degree and/or have at least two years of relevant experience in humanitarian community-based protection related activities.
• Experience working with vulnerable people in humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of protection principles, GBV guiding principles, safeguarding, PSEA, child safeguarding, accountability to affected populations, referral pathways, and community engagement.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Arabic.
• Strong digital literacy; English is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Odoo ERP or comparable humanitarian information-management systems.
• Experience with ActivityInfo, RAIS, RIMS, or referral-tracking platforms.
• Previous training in safeguarding, PSEA, protection, community engagement, Psychological First Aid, or GBV prevention.
• Knowledge of North Lebanon and Akkar.
• Previous experience with ECHO-funded projects, UN agencies, or NGOs.

Working Conditions

The role requires frequent field travel throughout North Lebanon and Akkar, including community outreach, awareness sessions, and coordination with local stakeholders. The position may involve interaction with vulnerable populations and exposure to sensitive protection issues. Strict compliance with confidentiality, safeguarding, PSEA, Child Safeguarding, AAP, and data protection procedures is mandatory.

This recruitment will follow AICA's Recruitment Procedure. The process may include:

Completion of any assessment step does not guarantee selection. Final appointment is subject to successful completion of HR, safeguarding, reference, payroll/NSSF, and management approvals.

The selection process for this position consists of:

• 50% written technical and scenario-based assessment
• 30% structured interview and facilitation assessment
• 15% review of CV and relevant experience
• 5% reference checks and safeguarding verification

The recruitment process could also include: CV screening, an Odoo Survey assessment, practical facilitation exercises, scenario discussions, a structured panel interview, reference checks, safeguarding review, and final management approval.
