Reporting Line: Center Coordinator, with oversight from the designated AICA Project Manager

Budget Positions

  • EIE IV – E.3 – RS Cycle 1 Facilitator: 1 position × USD 280/month × 5 months
  • EIE IV – E.4 – RS Cycle 2 Facilitator: 1 position × USD 280/month × 5 months
  • EIE IV – E.5 – RS Cycle 3 Facilitator: 1 position × USD 280/month × 5 months

1. Job Purpose

AICA is seeking three RS Cycle Facilitators to support the implementation of the CRS Education Project – EIE Fourth Extension at AICA's community center in Jabal Mohsen.

The Facilitators will support children to remain engaged in education through Retention Support (RS), Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN), remedial learning activities, and/or recreational sessions, according to assessed needs and the approved project schedule.

The three positions are:

  • RS Cycle 1 Facilitator: Grades 1, 2 and 3
  • RS Cycle 2 Facilitator: Grades 4, 5 and 6
  • RS Cycle 3 Facilitator: Grades 7, 8 and 9

Each Facilitator will be responsible for planning and delivering the complete agenda for the assigned cycle.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Student Learning and Retention Support

  • Plan and deliver individual or small-group learning and remedial activities for children in the assigned cycle.
  • Deliver Retention Support, BLN and/or recreational sessions according to assessed needs.
  • Identify learning and attendance barriers through observation and coordination with the Center Coordinator.
  • Adapt activities to different grades and learning levels.
  • Promote the participation of children with diverse learning needs.
  • For BLN activities, follow the applicable Ministry of Education and Higher Education curriculum and guidance.

2.2 Planning and Facilitation

  • Develop and submit in advance one comprehensive agenda for the full assigned cycle.
  • Include the sequence, objectives, grade-appropriate content, activities, materials and proposed timetable.
  • Deliver the complete approved cycle agenda.
  • Revise the agenda in coordination with the Center Coordinator when educational needs or project requirements change.
  • Coordinate group allocation and activities with the Center Coordinator and other Facilitators.

2.3 Parent and Community Engagement

  • Share appropriate learning and attendance updates with parents or caregivers through the Center Coordinator and approved project channels.
  • Refer concerns requiring specialist follow-up to qualified AICA staff through the approved referral pathway.
  • Facilitators shall not provide counselling or case-management services.

2.4 Monitoring and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Maintain session plans and concise learning-progress records using approved AICA project tools.
  • Submit weekly updates on sessions, progress and challenges to the Center Coordinator.
  • Flag recurring barriers to participation or retention for project follow-up.

2.5 Safeguarding, PSEA and Professional Conduct

  • Follow AICA's child safeguarding, PSEA, confidentiality, inclusion and complaints procedures.
  • Report concerns through approved AICA channels.
  • Maintain professional boundaries when working with children.
  • Respect confidentiality and children's dignity throughout project implementation.

3. Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant technical qualification in Education or a related field, or equivalent relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching or facilitating activities with children.
  • Ability to plan and deliver a complete cycle agenda.
  • Ability to adapt learning and recreational activities across different grades and learning levels.
  • Strong communication, planning, recordkeeping and coordination skills.
  • Commitment to AICA safeguarding requirements.
  • Residing in Jabal Mohsen.
  • Available for 12 hours per week according to the defined Monday-to-Saturday schedule.

4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Retention Support.
  • Previous experience in BLN or remedial education.
  • Experience facilitating educational activities with children.
  • Training on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's latest BLN Curriculum – Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Priority is specifically given in the TOR to Facilitators trained on the latest MEHE BLN curriculum.

6. Working Conditions

Each assignment is for up to five months, subject to the approved project period and contract start date.

Each Facilitator will provide 12 hours per week according to a defined schedule operating Monday to Saturday.

Monthly remuneration is USD 280 per Facilitator, inclusive of MOF, as reflected in the approved budget. Payment terms will follow the signed AICA contract.

7. Reporting and Supervision

Each Facilitator will report weekly to the Center Coordinator, with oversight from the designated AICA Project Manager.

Monthly performance review will consider:

  • Student engagement;
  • Quality of learning support;
  • Timely session planning;
  • Accurate reporting; and
  • Compliance with AICA and project procedures.

8. Selection Process

The recruitment process will be conducted in accordance with AICA's Recruitment Procedure and documented through the approved recruitment system, following the same overall structure used for the Protection Case Worker recruitment.

The process may include:

  • Application review and CV screening;
  • Review of relevant education and facilitation experience;
  • Structured interview;
  • Practical facilitation, session-planning or education scenario;
  • Safeguarding and PSEA review;
  • Reference verification;
  • Conflict-of-interest disclosure, where applicable; and
  • Final HR and management approval.
